FxPro Swap & Overnight Fees | Philippines 2026
A swap (or rollover) is the interest debited or credited when you hold a leveraged position overnight.
Open FxPro Account →Of the five ways a first funded month loses money, the overnight swap is the only one that can be exactly zero or the biggest of the lot, and nothing decides that except whether you were still in the market when the day rolled over. A swap is the interest you pay or receive for holding a leveraged position overnight at FxPro: it is charged only when a position stays open past the daily rollover, the rate depends on the instrument and on whether you are long or short, and Wednesday nights are charged triple swap to cover the weekend. It is also the one item with an unmistakable signature — it moves the balance on a day when you placed no orders at all. On our measured Raw+ feed one night of a long gold position costs many times one night of a long major, which is how a beginner who starts leaving positions open moves this item from the bottom of the list to the top without changing anything else. Swap-free (Islamic) accounts hold no swap for eligible clients; otherwise check the exact long and short swap per instrument inside your platform before holding overnight.

What you are debited (−) or credited (+) per standard lot held past the daily rollover, measured on FxPro’s own MT5 Raw+ feed (with the raw points in brackets). A negative number costs you to hold; a positive one pays you. Triple swap is applied on Wednesday night to cover the weekend value date. Carry / yr is the annualised swap yield (swap × 365 ÷ notional at the live price) — a rough guide to what holding the position costs or earns over a year, shown where we have a live price. What it really costs to hold a position (measured)
| Instrument | Long 1d | Long 1w | Long 1mo | Short 1d | Short 1w | Short 1mo |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EUR/USD | $17.90 | $71.30 | $276.00 | $7.10 | −$4.30 | −$48.00 |
| GBP/USD | $16.10 | $34.70 | $106.00 | $17.20 | $42.40 | $139.00 |
| AUD/USD | $12.95 | $24.65 | $69.50 | $13.90 | $31.30 | $98.00 |
| USD/CAD | $8.26 | −$1.46 | −$38.72 | $15.70 | $50.62 | $184.48 |
| USD/JPY | $4.55 | −$21.43 | −$121.02 | $26.43 | $131.73 | $535.38 |
| XAU/USD (Gold) | $89.90 | $497.30 | $2,059.00 | −$5.00 | −$167.00 | −$788.00 |
Total net cost to hold one standard lot over time — the spread plus accumulated swap. A positive figure is what it costs you; a negative one means you come out ahead (positive carry). For example, holding EUR/USD long for a month costs about $276, while a EUR/USD short earns about $48. Based on measured spreads and current swaps — rates vary.
Swap at a glance

Avoiding swaps
If you hold positions overnight regularly, a swap-free (Islamic) account may avoid swap interest for eligible clients. Check live swap rates inside your platform before holding overnight.
Open FxPro Account →The one item on the list that starts at zero
Four of the five first-month costs are charged the instant an order is filled. This one is charged by the clock: nothing happens until a position is still open at the daily rollover, and then it repeats for every night the position lives. Two accounts trading the same instrument, the same size and the same number of times can therefore finish the month far apart under this heading — one of them was flat by the rollover and one was not.
For a beginner who closes everything in the same session, the honest entry here is a zero, and the four remaining items explain the whole month. The moment overnight holds begin, the ranking has to be redrawn.
That switch usually happens in the third or fourth week rather than the first. Beginners start by closing everything before they log off, and only later leave something running because it has not reached its target yet. It is the classic late arrival of a first month: nothing for weeks, and then a charge with no trade attached to it.
Two first-month habits that move it to the top
The first is leaving a position open overnight. Every night it survives adds another charge at that instrument's published rate — and those rates are not the same order of magnitude, so one night of a long gold position costs many times one night of a long major on our measured feed. The tables above carry both directions for each instrument, because the rate is published per direction as well as per instrument.
The second is not knowing that Wednesday counts three times. Positions held over Wednesday night are charged triple swap to cover the weekend value date, so one unlucky night can weigh as much as most of the week. Neither habit needs a different account to fix: the whole exposure is decided before the rollover.
Reading it against the rest of the list
Set beside the four other first-month costs, this one behaves differently. The spread is inside the price you were filled at, so it never arrives separately (spreads and costs). The commission on a raw-spread account is a fixed, predictable charge (Raw+ account). The fill difference and the hour you traded leave nothing behind but a timestamp (live spreads). Only the overnight charge keeps working after the trading has stopped.
So it is the item to settle before the month begins rather than during it: whether you intend to pay it at all, and on which instruments. Everything else on the list follows from orders you place; this one follows from orders you leave.
How a first month lands under this heading
| First-month habit | What it costs here | Effect on the ranking |
|---|---|---|
| Every position closed in the same session | Nothing at all | Stays at zero for the whole month |
| An occasional overnight hold on a major | One night at that instrument's published long rate | Sits below the entry costs |
| A position left running over Wednesday night | Triple swap for that one night | Climbs the list on a single night |
| A gold position held overnight | One night at the metal rate, which sits well above any major | The largest single night on our measured feed |
Ranked by habit rather than by instrument. The measured long and short rate for every instrument, per standard lot, is in the tables above.

What traders report
Swaps are the quietest corner of the feedback we hold: two traders, both long-horizon, and not a word from anyone who closes inside the day. One has carried short GBP/USD and EUR/USD positions since November and reports no swap pain; the other is a swing trader whose swap-free Islamic account keeps the charge away from him entirely. Two data points cannot tell you what an overnight hold costs on your own instrument — the per-instrument, per-direction rates published on this page can.
FxPro doesn't charge high swap commissions. I've been holding short positions on gbpusd and eurusd since november.
I'm a swing trader, so for me the spreads is just nice and acceptable with 0 commission, they offer Islamic swap free.
